Beginners Soldering Course
Our beginners soldering course has been structured to cover all important areas of good soldering. This is a real “hands on” course with all theory taught whilst carrying out practical tasks. This course will give knowledge and confidence to those with little or no soldering experience. People who have been soldering for a short time and need to learn soldering skills and rework quality will benefit from this course.
The duration of the beginners soldering course is two days and is suitable for numbers of 1 to 6 people. This course will be taught at your premises. One or two people can be taught at candidates benches. If a group is larger than two people S.T Training require a area with a suitable amount of benches and power sockets. Upon completion candidates will receive a S.T Training certificate of attendance and leave the course with a understanding of expected quality and correct practice.
S.T Training supply training PCB`S that will enable students to learn the correct way of fitting 0603, 0805, 1206, SOT-23, AND IC components.
Beginners soldering course itinerary
ST Training will provide examples of good and bad soldering. Students will have the opportunity to find and repair these.
- Basic understanding of ESD safety.
- Basic recognition of common components
- Understanding of part markings and fitting orientation.
- Ability to identify a bad solder joint and repair.
- Understanding of good finish quality.
- Capability to use flux correctly.
- Fitting common through hole components.
- Fitting a range of SMT parts including 0603,0805,1206,SOT-23 and IC wide pitch packages. Using new understanding of alignment, orientation and quality.
- Removal of SMT parts with assistance of hot gun and soldering iron.
What do S.T Training provide?
S.T Training can provide tools, documentation, practice PCB`S and soldering irons. It may be beneficial for students to complete courses using the soldering tools they are required to use everyday. All candidates who complete the course can receive a certificate of attendance upon request. Certificates are usually sent within 14 days. All training is carried out by a IPC certified trainer.
What do we need to carry out training?
S.T Training will require work bench space for all candidates and adequate electricity sockets.

Courses usually run from 830-430 , 9-5 or 10-6 . Course times are flexible. Weekend training is available. Contact us for further information.
Course cost:
1 to 2 people = £375.00 per person
3 to 5 people = £350.00 per person
6 people= £325.00 per person
Course payment:
Payments should be paid 7 days before the course start date. If you are a company of 8 employees or less you may be entitled to our small business support payment options.

Cancellations
At ST Training we value your custom and will never cancel a course unless it is completely unavoidable. In the unlikely event of cancellation any monies paid will be immediately returned to those who made the payment. A discount will be offered when the course is rescheduled.
We ask you give 7 days notice of any course cancellations or changes to booked courses.
